Finally Got A Topic
I finally found the topic I'm going to do my paper about. The description of my paper is going to be about homosexuality. I chose that topic because it's something that comes up a lot in our community but people are afraid to talk about it. I mean why not talk about it, it won't hurt to discuss it. I also chose to talk about it because I am a lesbian and there is much information to be shared about the LGBT(Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) community. I will also inform the readers on LGBT rights, same sex marriage, and the Don't Ask, Don't Tell Act. There are so many positive role models in the gay community now. Having positive role models is very important for the community because if a gay or lesbian person can't go to their family for advice, then they will feel neglected and maybe try to harm themselves. I will finish this discussion in my paper so stay tuned.

Memphis Weather
OMG!!!! Memphis weather is sooooo crazy. You never know what to expect. I remember three years ago we had a tornado in the winter. It also snows in the spring, what a city. It also always seem to snow when I have plans for the following day, I mean it never fails. Last Friday I had plans but everything was cancelled because the day before it snow so when I woke up Friday morning I expected ice to be on the ground but instead there was NOTHING at all. Now that I have plans for tomorrow it wants to snow again, I wonder what's next. I also remember when it uses to just snow in February instead of January. The weather is constantly changing and you never know what to expect. All I can do now is just hope that the rain doesn't freeze over tonight because I refuse to stay in my room and do nothing all day long. I also feel like the more they cancel classes the more work we have to do and I already have more than enough work to do.

Sleeping Habits
It's almost two o'clock in the morning and I'm still up just now doing my blog. The later I go to sleep, the more energy I have but when I go to bed early less energy I have. I don't feel like getting up sometimes. I'll get up and hit the snooze button 5 times before i stay up for good. Right about now I'm debating if I should go to sleep or stay awake. I'm in a friends room and I guess when she gets sleepy she talks about random topics. She's trying to give me topics to write about after I told her what I'm writing about. If I continue to stay up late my sleeping habits will become terrible. I will not be able to focus on school work maintaining a good gpa. If i also continue to procrastinate it will take away from my sleep hours. I've just learned my lesson to stop staying up late and trying to do work unless it's necessary, so now I will be doing my blogs early and getting them over with.

Heart of the Game
This is my first time blogging. It is VERY different for me but I'm all for learning and doing new things. Heart of the Game is going to be about women's basketball. I have been playing basketball since I was in the fifth grade. That's a very long time. When I was younger there were so many young girls who enjoyed playing basketball. The first team I played on was for a community center. During my time playing for a community center I learned much needed information about the game as well as my teammates. So I went from playing community center ball to middle school ball. I didn't really get much play first two years, so when my 9th grade year came I got the mentality like I'm the best one on the team, I'm going to put in the most time and effort, I'm never getting off the court, and this is MY team. I never took no for an answer and sure enough my hard work paid off, I became captain of the team. When my coach found out how good I was she put me on the varsity team. Being on the varsity team you have to compete against your teammates for a spot EVERYDAY, and during the game you have to compete against players on the opposite team. When it all comes down all those girls are playing their hearts out for one reason, and that's to play for D1 College. If they make it that far they compete to be the best in the nation and if they succeed they make it to the WNBA drafts. When they do make it to the WNBA, many of their teams are becoming defunct and that leaves no room for the players to expand. To me that's not fair because these women make basketball their life and for them to finally make it to the pros and there isn't any room for them on the team, and if they are already on a team the teams are folding for whatever reason, but when it comes to the NBA they have never had a team to fold. If they can have 35 teams then why not the WNBA, but instead they have 12. I'm just saying.
